There’s a Smart Home Device for Closing Your Blinds

Easily installed to existing windows, AXIS Gear allows you to control or automate your window shades with your iPhone. The Indiegogo project is looking to fundraise the manufacturing of its product. You can set scheduling to open the morning blinds and lower them at sunset. Control your curtains with or without iPhone via the AXIS gear motor; it's also fully compatible with other smart home systems.

AXIS Gear is a motor that attaches to your curtain or shades’ beaded chain or loop cord, allowing your iPhone full control via the smartphone app. The device uses the Bluetooth Low Energy network for device communication, and it's is capable of connecting with various other systems including ZigBee and Thread enabled devices. Meant for shades and curtains of all sizes, the AXIS Gear can pull up to 20 pounds. You can pre-order via Indiegogo; the company expects to ship by or before October 2016. Want to see it in action? Watch the video below.
