Using e-mail

For those of us without hawk-like vision, the font size on incoming and outgoing messages can be a challenge to read. Fortunately, you can change the font size for all your messages. Here's how:

1. Open Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
2. Tap on Minimum Font Size.

3. Tap on the font size you want to use. The Mail app will use this (or a larger) font size for all messages.


Stop straining your eyes and set a minimum font size for all your messages.


Your iOS device makes it super easy to share great websites you discover with anyone through e-mail. Instead of copying the site link, opening your e-mail program, and pasting the link to send, you can do it all in Safari. Here's how:

1. Open Safari and go to the website you want to share.
2. Tap on the small icon box with the arrow coming out of it. On the iPhone/iPod touch, it's in the middle of the menu bar at the bottom of the screen. On the iPad, it's in the menu bar at the top of the screen, to the left of the address window.
3. Tap on Mail Link to this Page.

If you would like to see more or fewer preview lines for each message, you can change the number displayed for each e-mail by following these steps.

1. Open Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
2. Tap on Preview.
3. Tap on the number of lines you want each message preview to have. If you change it to None, only the sender and subject line will appear for each message.


Change the number of preview lines displayed for each at once by changing your preview message settings.


By default, you will see a certain number of messages when you open your Mail app. Your device will show you the sender, the subject line, and a two-line preview of the e-mail. To change the number of messages shown:

1. Open Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
2. Tap on Show.
3. Tap on the number of messages you want to show in your inbox.

You have the option of displaying 25 to 200 recent messages at a time in your inbox.


The default signature in all your devices is "Sent from my <iPhone, iPad, etc.>." You can customize your signature to say anything you want, and it will show up on all messages you send, reply to, and forward. Here's how to do it:

1. Open Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendar.
2. Tap on Signature.

3. Type in the signature you want to use.
4. Tap on the Mail (or Mail, Contacts…) button in the top left corner of the screen to save your signature and go back to the previous screen.
