The Vikersund ski flying app is a simple game where you play as a skier who is attempting a ski jump.  You tap to begin skiing down the hill and at the right moment you tap the screen to jump.  The goal is to get as far as possible during your jump.  You can play either single player or against someone.  Single player you have to beat scores which are computer generated, of course for multi-player you are going against your friend.

Personally I would find the task of trying to pick out games to publish quite daunting.  When you’re a developer it’s almost inevitable that you think your product is good (or you wouldn’t be making it) but as a publisher you have a whole different perspective on things.  I’m rather impressed with how consistently Chillingo picks out winners.  That’s not to say that every game they publish is gold because there have certainly been some I didn’t like, but the majority have proven to be quite fun.  As you’ve probably guessed by now, Diggin’ Dogs fits into that latter category.  The concepts are tried and true, but the movement mechanic is unique and the lack of a time limit actually gives you the chance to do something that many platformers don’t, which is the opportunity to explore.

Picture hangman is a new app available which is similar to traditional hangman but rather than guessing letters, you guess little pieces of the overall picture.  In picture hangman there is a picture in place of where the word would normally go.  For example, one puzzle solution would be a picture of a woman’s purse.  Now these pictures are similar to chalk drawings, not actual photographs.  At the bottom of the screen there are a bunch of pieces of pictures, also in chalk.  You need to attempt to figure out which of the small pictures at the bottom of the screen belong in the picture and which don’t.

How often do you use your iPhone’s camera feature?

Do you save it for just taking pictures of your friends and family and maybe the occasional jackwagon parking job (and then running it through FAIL Maker to make it that much funnier), or do you use it for nontraditional purposes?

I’ve found ways to use my phone’s camera that help make life a little bit easier.

The history of cameras goes back more than one hundred and fifty years. The History of Cameras App doesn't go through every aspect of it, but it does cover the highlights...in an interesting way. There are screens that show specific bits of information, such as how Richard Leach Madox perfected the dry plate. Accompanying each of these nuggets is a button that lets you see ... kind of ... how the process works. It's really a fun and very interesting App ... and it's free. If you are interested in photography, try this one for sure.
