We jammin with House of Marley headphones #CES

image
At a certain point, probably around $100, any set of headphones is going to be just fine for the majority of listeners. So at that point, it comes down to quality, comfort, style, colors, and branding. And if the House of Marley, founded by the legendary Bob Marley's family, has anything to say about it, a manufacturer's ecological footprint and philanthropic efforts should also be considered.

Simplicity and Convenience have been restored; iOS 5 is here

image

Earlier today, but later than the midnight release time, Apple released the much anticipated iOS 5.

Admittedly, this will disappoint JailBreak fans, hackers and whatnot, as none of the jailbreaking tools, toys and tweaks will work on iOS 5, and iOS 4.3.5 is still a tethered solution.

That being said, this could possibly put a dent in the jailbreaking market due to some of the new features.

PhotoPieces App Review

image

PhotoPieces is a fun little photo-manipulation app for iPhone that is based on creating photo-collages out of unique designs. The designs are available in the app as templates, although there is a very limited amount of them -- six to be exact. Despite this, the app is something unique on the App Store because it really allows you to create some interesting looking images.

Daedalus Touch App Review

image

There are many journal and note taking apps that are available; but Daedalus Touch definitely takes the demand for better features to a different level.  Luckily, the very first thing that is requested after downloading is an important tutorial.  It is recommended to thoroughly read and follow the tutorial because without it; you will not be aware of all the unique features that are offered.  The tutorial itself is very user friendly and clearly shows the use and purpose of the app.  With each page that is read; this system will ask for you to physically demonstrate the information being taught to insure that you are able to comply.  It’s a fail proof way to making anyone who buys the app capable of using it.

The iHome iA63; room filling sound in a little package

image

The iPhone and iPod Touch are both remarkable products. They are like having little computers, gaming devices, data storage, etc in the palm of your hand.

iHome Audiohas found a way to make those products even better. I recently took a look at the iHome iA63 App-enhanced Alarm Clock FM Radio Stereo Speaker System with Motorized Rotating Dock for iPhone and iPod. It was tested on the 4th generation of each.

Before I set it up, I went to the app store and downloaded the two enhanced apps for the iHome docks;

PodPlayer 1.1 Update Review

This is just a quick follow-up on my original review of PodPlayer. This new release brings several awesome features, one of which is my personal favorite. I asked the developer about adding it and he readily complied.

In addition to all the capabilities of the original 1.0 release, PodPlayer 1.1 adds the ability to automatically start playing selected podcasts when the app launches. No more fumbling around the screen or headset buttons when starting the app for the first time.

The iPod 4g kept me sane during rehab

I have not been blogging for a while due to the fact that I had to undergo a total hip replacement operation. I must admit, that between my laptop, my android tablet and my iPod Touch 4g, the device that kept me sane was the iPod Touch 4g.

Thanks to my 6 day combined hospital /rehab stay, I have come up with a top sanity reviving list for when you are laid up. In no particular order, they are;

  • Pandora

Once you set up channels and customize it, then just lay back and listen. They say music calms the savage beast, or at least the cooped up recuperating patient

PodPlayer Review

The apps that Apple bundles on their iOS devices are slick, polished and almost perfect. But for those power users who need just a bit more tweaking to attain an even higher level of perfection, they have to turn to Apple's App Store to seek out programs that scratch that particular itch.

Headphonies make it fun to share tunes

image

"Awesome!" and "Adorable!" and similar pronouncements were shouted when I displayed the Headphonies® "Stryker" Portable Micro Speaker to my kids!  At first, they thought it was a cute little toy like their plethora of figurines from Disney and Hello Kitty, but when I showed them that it was a portable speaker, that actually performed a useful function, they were really into it.
