MerckTech Releases New iQuickText App!

image

You know how frustrating it can be to try to send that LOL or OMG reply one-handed. Why not add a whole library of quick text replies to your iPhone with iQuickText? Now you can stay engaged in the conversation, and finish that Big Mac without hesitation! Not that I am, ahem,  advocating eating and texting at the same time. I wish not to be held responsible for the dry-cleaning bill for removing mustard stains from your favorite jacket!

Ever wanted to watch Vimeo and the like on your iPhone? Now you can!

Is the big empty area in the upper half on the left of the following screenshot familiar to you?

Would you prefer seeing something like the following:

…and also being able to watch the video?

Now you can – assuming your phone is jailbroken.

Misc news

1.) Multiplayer games (see my all-in-one roundup & bible):

a. A brand new Scorched earth / Worms clone, KIL.A.TON, has just been released. It has lounge-based multiplayer (albeit, at the time of writing, it’s still empty, which may change in the future). A decent alternative to, for example, Star Hogs by IUGO and Iron Sight by Polarbit; particularly if you take into account that, in KIL.A.TON, you can have up to six players (while in Star Hogs “only” up to four, and, in Iron Sight, only two) . See THIS for more info.

SafeWallet Winners

The SafeWallet Contest is over, and just want to thank SBSH for sponsoring this giveaway and to all the great comments from our readers. Winners, and instructions on getting prizes are posted after the break. I personally use Spb Wallet on my touch (see my review), but that is only because they had PC syncing before SBSH (which SBSH now has also added). It's good to see that people are being serious about their sensative data and protecting it.

Remote

RemoteCategory: Entertainment apple.com

Apple’s Remote app turns your iPhone into a universal controller for iTunes on your computer. With this app, which works through your home’s Wi-Fi network, you can control your tunes from anywhere in the house. Use it to shuffle, skip, play, edit, and pause songs in your iTunes library. It also works nicely with the Apple TV digital media receiver.

Have2P

Category: Utilities yellowpages.com

Have2PWhen you gotta go, you gotta go, right? And when you gotta go, you gotta know where the nearest restroom is. Have2P uses the iPhone’s GPS locator to find and display the locations of the nearest restrooms in your area. It also lets you know if it’s a public or customer-only restroom, if it offers changing tables, and how clean it is (thumbs up or down). Have2P displays the restroom locations on a pretty map with your current location clearly marked, making it easy to find a restroom.

Google Earth

Google EarthGoogle Earth is the second title on the list of all-time top 20 free apps. Like the desktop version, this app uses satellite and aerial imagery to let you explore the Earth. It also offers information about particular locations, including panoramic pictures and Wikipedia articles, giving you an idea of what those locations look like and offering more info about them.
