Danalock Review: Smart Door Security for the Connected Home!

The Poly-Control Danalock is a Bluetooth-enabled smartlock ($159, varies by model) designed to work with your existing dead bolt. Once installed, you can control the dead bolt from your iPhone, configure it to auto-unlock when you are in proximity to the door, and allow others to similarly lock/unlock your doors. I had to wrestle with it a bit to get it installed and working, but the concept works well once it is configured.

Rainbow, The Custom Color Keyboard for iOS

Rainbow, The Custom Color Keyboard for iOS

Bits&Coffee has released Rainbow 1.0, a new iPhone and iPad keyboard app with a great selection of themes that bring color to the grayish iOS system keyboard.

The ability to change the standard keyboard on iPhone/iPad is perhaps the best feature of iOS 8 since users have long been bored with the standard grayish keyboard that looks very similar to the original 2007 iPhone keyboard.

The Rainbow keyboard brings stylish colorful themes to the iPhone and iPad screen. Changing the keyboard theme is as easy as 1-2-3 and the user has a collection of 12 beautifully crafted keyboards to choose from.

Siri Is Much More Than She Seems

I just read a touching and uplifting story about an autistic boy befriending Siri. I am a huge Siri fan and have written about her more than once in this blog, but I have a new found admiration for the programmers who developed Siri.

Sublangua - The subliminal language learning app

Have you always wanted to learn another language? What if you could learn that language effortlessly, while reading your favorite books or news websites like you already do?

Sublangua helps slowly work another language into your vocabulary as you read. It's an evolution in language learning that we can't wait to have you try out for yourself.

** Random words translated as you read!
** Tap on a word to see its definition!
** Have you learned a word? Add it to your "Learned Words" list and it will no longer be translated so you can focus on other words.
** Is a certain word giving you trouble? Add it to your "New Words" list, and it will be translated every time it's seen with no definition given. Now that's forced learning!

FiftyThree's Paper & Pencil Are the New Paper & Pencil

I recently had the opportunity to try the Pencil stylus from FiftyyThree along with Paper by FiftyThree (free). Just as Apple is able to provide a seamless integration of hardware and software, FiftyThree has done the same with their elegant stylus and equally elegant sketching app.
