With all the chatter in the blogosphere, about new products soon to be released, and patent battles being fought on all fronts in the courts of law, I think it's important to keep in mind the old expression: "You ain't seen nuthin' yet!" Truly, hasn't this week been a great example of that. With the court cases bringing out details Apple would just as likely have preferred to keep private, we have been granted a rare insight into the evolution of products in the Apple iDevice chain, as well as having been given glimpses into what Apple had in mind, in prototype form, two years ago. That said, can you imagine what Cupertino has in store for us in say, 5 years? That's not that long. Think about it. Within 5 years, devices and functions that are now, only in prototype/patent form, may very well be seeing the light of day. It's not for nothing that Johny Ive says that the products Apple is working on now, are some of the best, most exciting products Apple has ever invented!

True I'm a blogger, but still consider myself a serious writer of sorts, and as such must recommend the Wordflex Touch Dictionary (formerly called TWIG, see our review here) for anyone else in the pursuit of putting fingers to keyboard or iPad screen. I do a fair amount of technical writing, and I'm always rooting around for a good synonym... WordFlex helps me immensely, and it just looks plain awesome while doing it! The latest update (besides changing the name) adds improved navigation features, Retina graphics and much more. The price is hefty at $24.99, but the beauty and capability of this app make it well worth the expense. Bullet list of features after the break...

If you haven't heard of Mobli, or tried out the App (available for free in the Apple App store), now is a great time! Mobli, the new, up-and-coming social photo/video App is currently hosting a wild month of daily contests, with a brand new, New iPad as the prize, EVERY DAY! Yes indeed, you read that right! In an unprecedented move, Mobli is, for the month of May, giving away a New iPad every single day! The requirements for entering the different daily contests are quite simple, relatively speaking, considering the prize.

Not to negate the progress that has been made recently in the area of artificial intelligence vocal assistant apps, but relatively speaking, this technology, at a consumer level, is still in its infancy. Even Siri is technically still a BETA release. So we can expect to see some glitches and hang ups in all of the current alternatives for vocal assistant software. That said, some are definitely better than others.

Considering how many apps are available in the Apple app store, not to mention how many are actually on my iPhone (close to 300), it's a bit daunting of a task to come up with only 10 apps to recommend here and now! There are simply so many amazing and award-winning apps out there and each is suited to an individual uniquely.
