Today, WinXDVD.com, an international persistent multimedia software producer, started the annual Back to School Promo to give away the latest version of Apple iPad iPhone software. It is a unique school return deal not only for students, so more Windows and Mac users can take the advantage of the DVD to iPad iPhone video software giveaway before Aug.31.

Thanks to this back to school sales, both PC and Mac versions of DVD to iPhone iPad video rippers are free available now. It is the first official donation in 2012 of these two iPad rippers and they have been updated very lately, say, just the end of July. No one pays full price for trade publication subscriptions anymore. And if they do, they haven't shopped around. Most of my magazine subscriptions are now on the iPad. When publishers create an iPad app, they proudly announced it and tell current subscribers how to access the bits.

What I Played this Week - Bounty Racer, Kingdom Rush, Stitcher and Pearltrees!

image

What I played this week includes a mix of apps for both work and play, and warn you this will be a lengthy column, as also have a bit of game news to share at the end. So, let's jump in--play before work, as the saying goes: Bounty Racer (beta) is an exquisite crash cart-esque 3D racing menagerie (should be released next week). Second, Kingdom Rush for iPhone is engaging, if tiny, Tower Defense fun with rousing vocals and clashing swords to keep you alert through endless enemy waves. Pearltrees is a "web curation" app (web-content mind mapping/sharing) with an interesting way to find/share online content. Stitcher is to news radio and podcasts what Slacker or Pandora are to music.  Lot's to look at, so let the WIPTW madness commence forthwith!
