I recently reviewed a new stylus (see GoSmart review here), so figured I would swing back and repost on some of the drawing apps I used in the review. I also wanted to cover a unique "self-drawing" app created by Eric Hayes (an MIT math wiz and artist) called Set Paint Go. Introducing the RAILKASE, from Scosche.

Scosche’s has entered into the  diverse and extensive field of rugged protection iPhone cases with what they call, the RAILKASE. The RAILKASE is a clever design that offers should offer a significant amount of protection for your iPhone, in most of the everyday circumstances you might encounter. This case isn't necessarily an extreme duty or military spec case, and it does lack one essential component that I feel any case claiming to be truly "ruggedized" ought to have, that being a built-in screen protector, but for most people in most situations, the Scosche RAILKASE will be more than enough to keep their iPhone safe and sound.

Each week we’ve been taking a in-depth look at a wide variety of different apps, accessories and gear that make summer travel with our iDevices easier, more convenient, safer and more enjoyable.

This week we are featuring a product by the Lifeproof Company, makers of the best waterproof and rugged protection cases on the market. The LifeJacket by Lifeproof is a great invention that turns your already sturdy and dependable Lifeproof case into a floating, completely submersible, tractioned, highly shockproof (drop it from a 50 foot building and watch nothing happen) portable media and computing station.

As a recumbent bike rider, I am always on the lookout for a foolproof mounting system for GPS, MP3, and Smartphone devices. Too many times I have hit a bump only to have one or more of my devices go flying, usually to its ultimate demise. Well, I have found a great solution in the form of Quadlock by Annex of Australia. Unfortunately, it only works with iPhones and iPod touch.

The kit comes with four pieces. The main device holder is made of sturdy black plastic into which the iPhone or iPod touch snaps securely. And, when I say securely, I mean securely. It is difficult to pry out the device with a crowbar. So, it's not likely that it will pop out when you hit a bump.
