Apple has pronounced SnapSeed as the #1 photography app of 2011. A very good review of it was written by fellow blogger Mitch Stevens, and can be read here:  There is not much you'd want to do to a photo that you can't do with this excellent app.

Best iPad Apps for Photo/Video

Many IOS users will be taking more photographs this holiday season. I thought I would share some of the better IOS applications in the App Store for taking and editing photos. Pro Camera is one of my favorite alternative applications for taking the place of the native camera app on any idevice. Pro camera has many available options and settings for users. My favorite feature of Pro camera is the ability to zoom. Once you have the subject in the picture you can zoom in or out depending on what it needs to get the better picture. This is a great asset to any camera application and photographer.

Update: Photo Editing Apps

One of the problems…or joys or writing app reviews like this is that by the time you finish the review, it is already almost out of date.  So, from time to time, it is necessary to return to  a review to ensure it remains up to date with the latest information.  With that in mind, a few months ago, I wrote a roundup for our print edition of some fantastic photo editing apps for the iPad (Kudos for MacPhun, winner of the Editor’s Choice Award from that article).  Since that time, I have stumbled upon several fantastic new apps which make editing photos even easier than ever.
