Another fabulous WinMo application is now available for the iPhone. WorldMate Live, a travel service and utility that allows you to monitor flights, check weather, and plan and view online iteneraries through your phone! The basic app is free, and I downloaded it to my iPod Touch just to check it out (pretty stunted compared to the full version). It features weather, flight search, and a currency converter.

If you're an iPod Touch user, you need not be incommunicado. If you're in the vicinity of a Wi-Fi hotspot, you can use your device to make calls, including calls to landline and cell phones. In this review in the Wall Street Journal, Walt Mossberg tests three apps — all FREE — that let you make calls without needing $70/month phone service like your iPhone brethren.
I love all these new educational apps for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Many of us have been in situations where we wish we had something for our children to do while waiting. These educational apps serve just that purpose.
I was recently contacted by Noel from Snappy Touch to let me know about a new software label being formed by several prominent independent developers. Now I could ramble on in my own words about it, but thankfully he was kind enough to provide me with a press release, so here goes:
