I try to hold on to this firm belief that you can’t go wrong with a tank game. Unfortunately, as any genre gets more crowded in the App Store there’s more opportunity for bad as well as good examples of how a particular type of game should be done. I think Panzer Panic falls somewhere squarely in between. It’s actually kind of a nifty game, and I really like the visual style, but the control scheme is very counter-intuitive to the fact that you actually have to control all of the tanks manually. A better balance between controls and game play is required before this game can truly shine.
I LOVE Facebook and I LOVE graphics. Now, I can have both. With Social Fun Book, I can add all kinds of fun graphics to my status updates. There are over 100 over them included on this app!
I’m a bit stingy and refuse to pay for “gifts” on Facebook. Now, with the Social Fun App, I can give “gifts” for free. I like that!
"The fun never stops as you grow grass, feed chickens, collect eggs and take your produce to market. From there, you'll spend the money you earn on additional buildings that produce exciting new products, including delicious steaks, tasty cakes and quaint down home apparel."
Find out what’s happening in the White House, watch a video on the latest NASA space launch, and view photos showing activities of the Department of Defense. Find out who’s writing another bill and how much it will cost, read speeches from congressmen and women, and learn what the Federal Reserve is doing to change the banking system. You can even search for a specific topic and find out what’s happening related to that particular topic.
Very cool indeed, is what I think of Amir Markish’s Radio Hungary ($1.99) which has a very user friendly interface allowing you to search Hungarian Radio stations being broadcast online. Save your favorites and play.
I am so… like hooked on Larry Weinberg’s PhototTropedelic ($1.99) app man, it’s unreal. Ok, enough of the 70’s talk, this is an interesting app in how it creates its effect, which I think is great!
Geeks of the world unite! It takes some guts and skill to develop a game around Erwin Schrödinger classic cat experiment designed to illustrate the incompletenes of the theory of quantum mechanics. Enter SouthPeak Games vision of Schrödinger's Rat (.99). Head spinning yet? Your IQ might just end up a couple points higher on the Wechsler Scale if you play this game a lot.
I continue to find gems in educational apps, and here's a great example - OceanHouse Media's reimagined eBook for Dr. Seuss The Cat in the Hat ($3.99), and a number of other books too.
We've been covering apps that let you record video on older-model iPhones that didn't come with video capability. The most recent entry is Video Genius, which is currently free in the App Store. It records at a rate of 10 frames per second, but is limited to 40-60 seconds. If you want to shoot longer, then it has a lower res mode of 4 frames per second that lets you take onger videos.
