Apps: Travel
CoPilot’s raises the bar for iOS turn-by-turn directional apps as ALK Technologies brings a stellar line up of GPS navigation software to iOS. The CoPilot suite of GPS navigational driving apps has a whole lot to offer anyone looking for an excellent and feature-rich GPS navigation alternative for your iDevice.

That which makes something a “great deal” is very relative and subjective. For instance, for the unrivaled security they provide, I would call the Lifeproof line of iDevice products a “deal”, even though they might be some of the pricier iDevice cases on the market. With regards to quality and protection, the old adage “You get what you pay for.” is often true, especially when it comes to products that claim to be durable and built to last. When it comes to a quality manufacturer of iPad and laptop bags, you’d be hard pressed to find a better deal than a Copper River Bag. First of all, Copper River Bags come with a 100-year warranty! I guarantee you, not many companies would say such a thing about their product. This puts them in league with such reputable, top companies as Eddie Bauer, L.L. Bean, Leatherman and the handful of other manufacturers whose warranties extend throughout the life of their product. Copper River Bags are nothing short of works of art. Practical, durable works of art mind you, but art nonetheless. Each bag is hand crafted here in America in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains. Using rugged, full grain leather, each Copper River Bag is built to carry your devices and gadgets, now and for generations to come. Truly, if you decide to invest in a Copper River Bag, it is something that, barring any unforeseen natural disaster, you will likely find yourself leaving to a loved one in your will.
Welcome to the latest in my review series. This time I’m taking on the new Incase Compact Backpack, putting it through my rugged testing and reporting back to you on my findings. I really like the company Incase, I've reviewed their products in the past and have felt like they always make quality merchandise. So I was looking forward to trying out the latest Incase iDevice carrier, simply called the Compact Backpack.
This backpack definitely leans more towards the urban adventurer than the wilderness explorer (I'll also be reviewing some of the better rugged, heavier duty iDevice carrier bags too in the coming weeks so stay tuned.) but for the price and for the quality of craftsmanship for the student, business person or teacher to whom it's targeted, this pack is hard to beat!
After months of anticipation and rumored development, Lifeproof, (arguably one of the best protective case manufacturers for iDevices) has produced, and now released, their version of the award-winning Lifeproof case, for the iPad 2 and 3rd generation models. Called the “nüüd”, this new, completely submersible iPad case is a revolution of design and functionality. This cleverly designed case provides a high level of defense for our precious iPads, unlike anything else on the market.
TinyLightbulbs.com is a ingenious young company that specializes in bringing independently funded and crowd funded projects to greater public awareness. Recently they turned me on to a product called The Flex Kit. Here is a case solution that stands out from a very crowded field of iPad cases. Uzibull has created a versatile and unique product, a protective and functional line of accessories for the iPad that is The Flex Kit.
With all the chatter in the blogosphere, about new products soon to be released, and patent battles being fought on all fronts in the courts of law, I think it's important to keep in mind the old expression: "You ain't seen nuthin' yet!" Truly, hasn't this week been a great example of that. With the court cases bringing out details Apple would just as likely have preferred to keep private, we have been granted a rare insight into the evolution of products in the Apple iDevice chain, as well as having been given glimpses into what Apple had in mind, in prototype form, two years ago. That said, can you imagine what Cupertino has in store for us in say, 5 years? That's not that long. Think about it. Within 5 years, devices and functions that are now, only in prototype/patent form, may very well be seeing the light of day. It's not for nothing that Johny Ive says that the products Apple is working on now, are some of the best, most exciting products Apple has ever invented!
Introducing the RAILKASE, from Scosche.
Scosche’s has entered into the diverse and extensive field of rugged protection iPhone cases with what they call, the RAILKASE. The RAILKASE is a clever design that offers should offer a significant amount of protection for your iPhone, in most of the everyday circumstances you might encounter. This case isn't necessarily an extreme duty or military spec case, and it does lack one essential component that I feel any case claiming to be truly "ruggedized" ought to have, that being a built-in screen protector, but for most people in most situations, the Scosche RAILKASE will be more than enough to keep their iPhone safe and sound.
