Apps: News
The big news today is that The Daily, the first iPad-only newspaper, will cease publication on December 15. I'm sorry to see it go. I've been a subscriber since the beginning, and it's always been the first thing I read in the morning. The publication kept evolving, and the mix of content and ease of navigation kept improving, and I felt they got it right. The app was a pleasure to interact with — much more so than other magazines or newspapers I've tried. I can only hope their conventions will be adopted by other publications.
A few days ago I posted about the great Black Friday apps that help you prepare for this Friday — the biggest shopping day of the year. Retailers offer insane bargains just to help whip everyone into a shopping frenzy for the holiday season. Not to be left out, the online retailers have created their own version of Black Friday, called Cyber Monday. Monday, Nov 28, is the biggest online shopping day of the year, and again, you'll find amazing deals.
As I'm sure you know, Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year, is coming up next week on November 23. Stores open early or even the night before, and offer door-busting deals that usually include below-cost loss-leaders just to get crowds in the door. And they tend to keep these great deals under wraps until their circulars come out the Wednesday before. However, several websites make a practice of getting their hands on these circulars early and publishing them — notably TGI Black Friday.
