image

IK Multimedia has been a company on a roll lately, with a slew of hardware and software products tailored for amateur and prosumer musicians. Whether its stands and clips for iPhones and iPads or multitrack recording and sampling software for the iOS platform, IK has been expanding their catalog at a prodigious rate. Their latest releases include a MIDI hardware connector for the iOS platform, a sound sampler app and a iPad version of their popular VocaLive software. This review will take a closer look at each.

Top 100 Music Videos now available on iPhone and iPad

Music Videos: Top 100 brings the YouTube 100 chart to iPhone and iPad. Since YouTube launched
this chart, which tracks song popularity by measuring views across official videos and viral debuts, it has ever been increasing in popularity. It has however been hard to access the chart on mobile devices. Music Videos: Top 100 provides iPhone and iPad users with a very user-friendly way to view the chart and its videos.

AutoVolume - Self adjust volume based on background noise. Or limit music volume automatically while talking.

I think I've created something that is designed to successfully change the way people listen to music in noisy city, on transport or even in office where sudden attention is needed.

A lot of people love listen to music during their daily activities. But what happens if the noise outside is constantly changing? It is always changing.. When walking by a noisy street or during stops on the subway train.

Probably one of the best wireless music systems I have reviewed (review here) and now available at Apple Store, Best Buy and Crutchfield (temporarily out of stock at iHome). The Wi-Fi was a little wonky for me (warning if you still use WEP), but this is a great system and if you have an iPhone, 'Pad or 'Pod lover in the family, this would make an awesome holiday gift! PowerFX Release DJ Samplr iPhone App

PowerFX has just announced the release of DJ Samplr, the iPhone app that includes over 320 sounds in a simple “drum pad style” interface with pad tap and hold pitch bend and panning.  You can also record, edit and assign your own samples or import sounds via iTunes.

Great to use in a live DJ setting or playing around at home, just plug you iPhone into your mixer and jam along with DJ Samplr by dropping in some great sounds or mangling them up with the touch of your finger. Futuristic scratching!

Review - iHome iW1 Wireless Speaker System

image

The iW1 from iHome is a superb AirPlay compatible wireless speaker. I was the first person to get a review unit, so more or less the first guinea pig user. Consequently, I had some guinea pig type problems with it, but with help from the folks at iHome, was able to get it working quite well. It is arguably the best combination of features I have yet seen in a portable speaker system.
