Bell'o Digital Offers Beautiful Headphones with Great Sound

image

Seeing is believing, but when it comes to headphones, hearing and comfort are more important than good looks. Fortunately, I've discovered a set of headphones that looks great, sounds great and is quite comfortable. And they come from Bell'o Digital, the electronic side of Bell'o, the well-known Audio Video furniture provider.

Boombot REX Brings the Boom

image

I love it when plans come together. The other day my kids were planning on camping in the backyard and they asked for a wireless speaker to enjoy their tunes. However, the forecast called for rain.  While my kids can handle getting a little wet, I wasn't thrilled with the idea of ruining my electronics. That same day, the Boombot REX arrived, from Boombotix.

Apple Tells up to 200 Beats Employees to Beat It (UPDATE: Okay, you've got three months)

image

UPDATE: It might be because of the bad press, or a change of mind, or misreading tea leaves, but Apple wants folks to know that just about everyone at Beats is being offered a spot at Apple.  BUT, there are no guarantees after 3 months.  So the original report, that some are being asked to stick around only until January 2015 still holds true, but Apple wants you to see it differently.  So 500 Beats employees will become Apple employees... but many for just three months.

You would think a company as large as Apple could acquire a business of about 500 people for $3 billion and manage to find jobs for all of them, but alas, it isn't so. 9to5mac is reporting that as many as 200 of the employees from Beats have been let go or are being asked to stick around only until January 2015.

Evaluating iTunes' Impact on the Music Industry

image

When it was first introduced, iTunes seemed to be the most logical answer to the heated controversy caused by widespread online illegal music downloads. According to NPD estimates, iTunes is currently responsible for 63 percent of all digital music sales, and is undeniably the United States' top music retailer.

Better Headphones than Beats for Less

image

When Apple paid $3 billion for Beats by Dr Dre, a lot of analysts think Apple overpaid. But that doesn't mean you have to. Sure, Beats headphones will set you back $200 and if you want wireless Bluetooth headphones with the Beats logo, expect to pay $300 to $350. But there are alternatives.

Apple News: iTunes Festival, London Edition

image

Not all the Apple news is about sapphire screens and the pending iPhone 6. Apple is promoting their latest iTunes Festival, and this time it's based on London. You can win tickets to attend, or for the rest of us, stream the content using an iOS device, including Apple TV.

Their latest batch consists of substantial revisions to their popular iKlip and iMic product lines. SMS and 50 Cent get Sporty, with Help from Carmelo Anthony

image

With Beats becoming part of Apple, there's room for an independent high-end headphone vendor and SMS wants to earn that spot.  I've reviewed their Star Wars licensed line by 50 Cent and been impressed. Now they are pivoting (pun intended) in another direction, namely athletic earbuds and on-ear headphones, with help from NBA star Carmelo Anthony.
