Free i.TV 2.0 now available

In an earlier post I noted that i.TV 2.0 had been announced. And now it's out. This free app is billed as "the only movie, DVD, and TV guide you'll ever need." The new version lets you use your iPhone or iPod touch as a remote control with a TiVo, and more devices are being added.  The new version also includes a streamlined interface, push notifications, and more.

Animoto: It's a love thing

I fell in love with the girl before I found out that she could cook, dance, and play tennis, plus loves movies and my friend J.R.R. Tolkien. Well, okay, a lot of that is a fantasy, but something LIKE that happened with Animoto and it’s new iPhone app, because I followed up a tech alert on USA Today that mentioned Animoto, and wow, it was a dream come true, even before they launched the app.

But first you would have to have my dream, which was for an easy way to take a bunch of my poems, or any poet’s poems, and add multi-image effects (and maybe music) to them to create a sort of MTV version of poetry.

Misc news

1.) Multiplayer games (see my all-in-one roundup & bible):

a. A brand new Scorched earth / Worms clone, KIL.A.TON, has just been released. It has lounge-based multiplayer (albeit, at the time of writing, it’s still empty, which may change in the future). A decent alternative to, for example, Star Hogs by IUGO and Iron Sight by Polarbit; particularly if you take into account that, in KIL.A.TON, you can have up to six players (while in Star Hogs “only” up to four, and, in Iron Sight, only two) . See THIS for more info.

Free i.TV app soon available in version 2.0

i.TV today announced the imminent availability of version 2.0. Already this app was promoted as "the only movie, DVD, and TV guide you'll ever need." Version 2.0 includes the "i.TV Remote Control Framework," which allows third parties to integrate functionality into i.TV. And the first to do so, is TiVo. You'll be able to use your iPhone to change the channel, fast forward, record, and play your favorite shows and movies with just a tap on your iPhone or iPod touch.

AreaCellphone.com has posted a fun list of the 10 most idiotic iPhone apps. They range from Poop the World (which lets you keep a public record of where you've, aah, well, you know) to Hold On (which lets you see how long you can hold your finger on a button on the screen).

Radio client news: Clock Radio at a 66% off; major roundup update

I've just finished posting a major update to my radio client roundup (more precisely, in the second part).

In it, I review two radio applications containing a timer - one, Clock Radio, containing even a very nice and big clock. Incidentally, the latter is at a 66% off this weekend and is offered for $1 only. (Hurry up if you need it.)

I've also elaborated on which radio clients can be put in the bckground on jailbroken devices.

Remote

RemoteCategory: Entertainment apple.com

Apple’s Remote app turns your iPhone into a universal controller for iTunes on your computer. With this app, which works through your home’s Wi-Fi network, you can control your tunes from anywhere in the house. Use it to shuffle, skip, play, edit, and pause songs in your iTunes library. It also works nicely with the Apple TV digital media receiver.
