PBS apps feed the mind using iOS Devices

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the first." - Albert Einstein

The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) is an independent source of information and news. It maintains its independence by means of financial support from individual citizens like you and me. It's programming, in my opinion, is superior to that of commercial media and the program embedded below is a prime example.

Pay made easy!

"Price is what you pay. Value is what you get." - Warrent Buffett

Many of us provide a service. We do so because we wish to help others. However, we too must eat and so must be rewarded for our talents. This is a simple truth.

PayPal is providing a convenient way for us to collect fair remuneration at the time of service. It's called PayPal Here. The promotional video below gives you the highlights in a more entertaining manner than I can in words alone.

“It takes a lot of courage to show your dreams to someone else.” - Erma Bombeck

Edmodo is an online social learning network. It’s a bit like Facebook but secure! Teachers, students, and parents can connect, collaborate, and share content without worry. Teachers can post grades, assignments, and quizzes too but we are going to focus attention on sharing videos.

“Our heritage and ideals, our code and standards - the things we live by and teach our children - are preserved or diminished by how freely we exchange ideas and feelings.” - Walt Disney

Does this work of engaging students in higher order thinking with iPads comply with the Common Core Standards? In a word, YES.

Higher Order Thinking with iPads (Part #10 - Posting)

“The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.” - Coco Channel

Expressing oneself is the essence of higher order thinking. If you have something to say share it!

When we share a video online it becomes a podcast. We can make it available to everyone on the World Wide Web or to a select group of people. But often the first step is to make it available as an individual file you can upload to the commons.
