Gusto Technologies, creators of the FitTrip App now on Kickstarter, are helping out fellow residents of the Boulder, Colorado area who lost almost everything they own to the flooding that occurred during the week of Sept. 12. Close to 13 inches of rain fell in the region in just a few short days.
Did you know that when you purchase a new set of headphones they are not at their optimum performance out of the box? I didn't, until I discovered Moshi Audio's Burn-in Tool (free).
A while back I reviewed Moshi's Dulcia in-ear headphones. They had a great sound, but I read that to make them perform even better it was recommended to download and use the Burn-in Tool app.
I recently interviewed Moshi's director of product marketing, Spencer Pangborn, by email so he could explain how the headphone burn-in process worked.

A charging cable is usually just a charging cable. They accomplish the same thing by giving life to our favorite iDevices.
However, the boltBOX lightning charger by Scosche ($24.99) intrigued me. I liked the nifty, compact design of the boltBOX and the wide range of colors to choose from. I received a red boltBOX to review.
Even though there are many other retractable cables out there, my previous solution to keeping my charging cable together when away from home was to wind it up and wrap a rubber band around it before putting it in my bag. I know, I know, I'm pretty high tech that way.

Dulcia in-ear headphones by Moshi ($64.95) are satisfying to the ears and designed for style-conscious music lovers.
They come in white, black, and a special Pink Edition with Swarovski Crystal if you want to add a little bling.
The Dulcia earbuds feature DR6 Neodymium drivers in anodized aluminum casing. This means that they deliver rich, full sound with some punchy bass.
For our family vacation next year, we've decided to take a trip to Costa Rica. I know it's still 10 months away, but I'm already dreaming of gorgeous beaches and zip lining through the jungles.
The problem is, most of our vacations have been to English-speaking destinations. So I've decided to learn Spanish.
Besides a one-year course in high school (which was a long time ago) and words I've picked up here and there by living in the Southwestern United States, I am not even close to communicating with someone whose only language is Spanish.
MEELECTRONICS Air-Fi Matrix AF62 Stereo Bluetooth Wireless Headphones ($149.99) are lightweight, comfortable, and provide great sound quality.
I'm usually an earbud kind of music listener, but these headphones have changed my mind. I loved not having any cords to get tangled in, and the ear pads are soft and cushy. They also provide wonderful sound isolation, which is a luxury in my noisy household.
The Matrix is a full feature set, providing wireless Bluetooth connection for smartphones and tablets that includes multipoint, voice prompts, and NFC connectivity.
Boundless Textbooks (free, $19.99 for in-app upgrade) is an app designed to help college students save money on textbooks and study on the go. Boundless covers more than 20 subjects, including biology, business, chemistry, physics, and sociology. Introductory textbooks are free, while full-course books are $19.99 each. Boundless is something I could have used in college when I spent hundreds of dollars on books every year.
The book I checked out was a psychology textbook, Discovering Psychology: The Science of Mind. I always find it a little difficult to read things on my iPhone because of the small screen, but the words were easy to see and nicely formatted.
