There's a new free version of PhotoScatter, a useful app that does one thing very well: you can select or take a photo and then upload it to multiple photo-sharing sites with one click. You can select which sites to upload to: Facebook, Flickr, Shutterfly, PhotoBucket, Picasa, and Twitter, with more being added soon. You can optionally add a title and description before uploading.
The creative use of the iPhone is, I find, stunning. Every day I receive press releases for apps that I just wouldn't expect. Two new apps that illustrate this are Retina and Eye Glasses. Retina ($.99) is for those who are color blind. You simply point the camera at something, such as an item of clothing in a store, and the app will show the item in the camera's preview mode and tell what color it is. Eye Glasses ($2.99) lets you use your iPhone to see tiny text or other hard-to-see details.
Straight from the web site!
3 of the demo apps are free, 4 costs 99c.
This is not Flash10. This is to create installed apps written in AS3. So even though its not a true browser plugin (so STILL no flash video) at least we can resuse assets and code from other projects to create iphone apps. I would expect TONS of flash games to come to the iphone as well as Android and Palm Pre.
With the introduction of the (free) Vonage Mobile app for the iPhone and Vonage Mobile for iPod Touch, the world might have just gotten a lot smaller. I've been using Vonage since August 27 2005, well before the downturn in the economy, primarily because of growing dissatisfaction with traditional landlines service, customizability and cost. For example, prior to the switch to Vonage, my monthly phone bill was constantly betweeen $90 and $150, primarily because of in-state toll calls and my wife calling family in Hungary. It also irked me that call forwa
Kelen continues to work with his iPhone, his favorite game is EA's (.99) Spore which has led to a number of interesting and exciting creations. For example, Spore inspired his creation of his own monsters, and then back to creating visually interesting and sometimes intense images with his iPhone.
Dragon Portals is a rare breed in a couple of ways. It's a match 3 game, but it's not quite like any that I've played before. That other thing that was a bit odd was that it was one of the few match 3 games that actually grew on me. Normally with match 3 games I either like them or don't, but I actually came around on this one. In the end it even became a mild addiction for me. I'm not sure it's worth the full asking price given all the match 3 games already available on the App Store, but if you love match 3 and are looking for something different you won't find a better place to look than Dragon Portals.
While, in general, I publish / post all the news pertaining to an already-reviewed game genre or application type (multiplayer games / radio apps / Web browsers / remote desktop controllers / instant messaging apps etc.), this time I’m dedicating a separate article to the current news as I consider it pretty important and urgent, particularly because the two major rebates will quickly end.

recorder, which has been added in OS 3.0, under both OS versions 3.0 and 3.0.1 allowed for unlimited audio recording.
And it was just great at that: it was indeed unlimited and the battery life impact of its operation was negligible. (Just for the record: I've run a test lasting for 1 hours and 30 minutes [the phone suspended almost all the time; the resulting file size is 52 Mbytes]; the battery level (on my 3G S) decreased from 98% to 90% during this. I've repeated the test on the 3G. In 1:10, the battery level decreased from 100% to 96%. That is, the battery life is excellent on both the 3G and the 3G S.)
RedLaser is an Awesome barcode scanner! So far, I've used it for groceries, books and makeup. It is super fast and super easy to use. You simply aim your iPhone at the barcode on the item and RedLaser does all the rest. In seconds, it displays a list of prices and links to a variety of online stores where you can immediately purchase the product directly from your iPhone.
