Many business travelers often need to be contactable on two mobile numbers: one local number for their business clients and another personal number for family and friends. Until now, this means having two mobile phones and the inconvenience of having to make sure that contacts are transferred from one phone to another, or having to forward messages from one phone to another.
The surprise of this September (as all of us wait eagerly for the release of iPhone 5) has to be Disney Mobile’s new Puzzle Arcade “Where’s My Water” or WMW (as I’ll refer to it). Released only recently on Sep 22nd and already topping Appstore charts, this app has managed to combine a familiar premise (Bring A to B) in the puzzle arcade genre, an intuitive interface (swiping the finger), and yet it has aso introduced sufficiently new elements into the game in order to stand out from the crowd.
The Singapore Army has announced plans yesterday to purchase 8,000 iPads for new recruits into the army.
I recently took a vacation in Hong Kong with my family and I was pretty excited to check out the iPhone scene over there. There were several Chinese-language magazines that covered only iPhone and iPad related stuff, but what caught my eye was this magazine called ‘iPhone’. As you may already know, there are far more adventurous possibilities for theming your iPhone if it is jailbroken. Having been dissatisfied for some time with merely swapping wallpapers, I explored various theme packs on Cydia. This requires time and patience as some themes don't work well with other plug-ins and recently, I've stumbled upon PerPageHTML, which is a very cool alternative to Winterboard for those of us who like to install cool themes on their iPhones.
Every once in a while, there’s an economics professor who manages to put together a research paper that appeals to gadget geeks and iPhone nerds.
Recently, I've had quite a few friends asking me what to do when their iPhone crashes or locks up in a way that prevents the iPhone from responding to the normal iPhone restart procedure. This happens occasionally with jailbroken iDevices whenever there are cydia app conflicts with the firmware.
Now that we’re at the threshold of iOS 4.3, one simple tip that ought to be revisited is an easy but still not well-known method native to the iOS that allows you to take a screenshot or screen image and save them in the Photo application for easy transfer via email. This method, which has been in use since iOS 2.0, still works on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch in the latest iOS versions. There is no need for any third-party applications. This works even when you are in the middle of a game.
