Looking a little like a Kevlar vest for iPhone, the new iFrogz Mix is a polycarbonate hybrid case with a thicker TPU edge. TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethane) is a choice material for it's resistance to abrasions, oil and grease, while retaining excellent elasticity. It's better than traditional rubber in some respects as it is lacking in overly adhesive properties (easier to pull out of the back pocket), with the added benefit of anti-microbial properties. Wow that sounded scientific... I need to stop researching and reviewing all these darn cases...
The Mix fits like a glove on the iPhone, and though it provides good edge protection, I probably wouldn't go throw iPhone off the Eiffel Tower because of it. It's still mostly lightweight PC, after all. The sample unit sent to me had a pleasing striped design on the translucent rear cover. All ports, buttons and openings are more than adequately available for docking, plugging or finger access..
My son, who is a case fashionista, has commandeered it, and is so far still using it a few weeks later. I take that as a good sign. I could not locate the Mix on the iFrogz site, but you can search it out on Google. Price point is around $30, which is a little pricier than any of several other iFrogz models that you might choose...
