Ballistic HC gets Mil-Spec certification!

If you are looking for a seriously tough case for your iPhone, check out the Ballistic HC series. They recently passed MIL-STD 810G specifications (the only iPhone 4 case design to do so). They also have HC cases for BBerry, and HTC devices as well (couldn't find one for iPod touch sadly). This case was one of my top picks in our last Buyer's Guide. Read on for the full press release details on the Mil Spec testing...

Ft. Lauderdale, FL (February 14, 2011) – Ballistic, designers of advanced mobile accessories, is proud to announce that it has certified that the Ballistic HC (Hard Core) case is the first and only available iPhone 4 case to meet Mil Specs (Military Specifications - MIL-STD 810G). Additional models which meet this Mil Spec are also available.

This rugged case is engineered with superior shock absorption and features an interchangeable outer gel skin layer, front facing inward holster and built-in screen protector. It also incorporates innovative connector seals, water resistant meshes and tough lenses to ensure that moisture, dust/dirt and other corrosive materials do not enter into the connector, speaker and microphone ports.

A multitude of tests were performed on the Ballistic HC case to ensure that Mil Specs (Military Specifications- MIL-STD 810G) were met.  Shock (Drop test), Vibration, Extreme Temperatures, Humidity, and Dust were all tested during certification.

“We’re proud to offer a case that meets military specifications,” said Adam Stubin, Vice President of Business Development, Ballistic. “There are a lot of fashion companies out there that attempt to add a rugged case to their case line-up.  We pride ourselves on offering purpose built, top-notch protective gear to our customers, and this confirms our leadership in the rugged case market.”

The Ballistic HC case is currently available at various retailers nationwide, and here for $49.99.

About Ballistic

The Ballistic® brand was realized 6 years ago when the owner was getting out of his car and his phone fell, cracking the screen.  He believed there had to be a way to offer consumers a high level of protection in a case that still looked good.

The Ballistic engineers designed private label holsters and belt clips that simply would not break. During this time, the company made millions of OEM branded holsters and belt clips.

As smart phones became more popular, the need for drop protection became necessary.  Ballistic engineers examined their competitor’s products and knew they could do better. The resulting product is the Ballistic HC (Hard Core). This case provides the most advanced degree of drop protection currently in the market.

We think everyone will drop their phone.  We say, “Just Drop It!”--as long as you are using a Ballistic case.  Ballistic cases are Designed to Survive Life!™
