It's always nice to have a portable auxiliary speaker around the house or when you travel. I especially enjoy having a mobile sound system in my garden while I'm working or relaxing. Cubedge speaker fits the bill perfectly.
The Edge is compact but delivers exceptional quality sound. It measures approximately 6 x 2.25 x 2.25 inches and weighs in at 10.75 ouches. It comes in an attractive, non-intrusive white or black rubberized case that protects the unit and will blend in with any decor.
On the top are three buttons. The middle one is the function button used for Bluetooth 3.0 pairing. The other adjacent buttons are for volume control. On the back is a 3.5 mm jack for wired device connections, and on/off switch, and a micro USB port for charging.
Play time on a fully charged battery can last from 10 to 14 hours.
There is an aluminum grill covering the speakers on the front. On the up front right corner is a diode function light to indicate Bluetooth and battery status.
The edge will connect to any Bluetooth device. It's Bluetooth 3.0 capability allows for faster, higher quality streaming. If your sound source does not have Bluetooth, you can still connect it with a 3.5 inch male/male cable, which is provided for plug and play convenience.
Bluetooth connectivity was fast and simple. In fact, with 3.0, you don't even have to enter a pin code. I like the way that it automatically connects with the last paired device when you turn it on.
What's in the box? First of all, the box is impressive in itself. I'd like to hire the person who designed this packaging to pack my bags for my next trip. It is artfully done. The box it comes in is an aluminum container obviously meant for a travel case. Inside you will find a 3.5 mm male/male connection cable, and a micro USB charging cable that attaches to a wall charger also included. There is a comprehensive printed manual included as well.
If you don't want to use the aluminum box in comes in, there is also a nice, black, nylon, drawstring bag included.
This device can also act as a speakerphone when paired with a Smartphone. To answer a call, just push the center function button. Push it again to disconnect when finished. Or you can push the answer and end buttons on your phone. You can reject an incoming call by holding down the function button for two seconds. It even has a built-in microphone for hands free operation.
What I most appreciate is a device that is wireless, doesn't require docking, and delivers high quality sound. I find docking devices cumbersome and ugly as opposed to this attractive and convenient system
You're probably wondering how much this precious little gem will set you back. It's price is competitive with similar products on the market. . The retail price is $149, which is not out of line for a speaker of this quality. It comes in your choice of black or white. Get one here: http://amzn.to/YLNncP
This mighty little sound system has made a difference in the quality of my life, and I'm sure it will in yours too.
