Ten One Design has some great products. I’ve already reviewed their brush stylus, which makes drawing like painting with water colors. Today we’re going to talk about the new Ten One Design Magnus Mini stand for the iPad Mini.
Tablets are great, but one can get weary of holding them. A stand makes prolonged use much more convenient and comfortable. Enter the Magnus Mini. It’s not a big, old bulky stand that unfolds like an artist’s easel and takes up a lot of room. Instead, it measures 4.25 x 2 inches. It weighs just 5/8 of an ounce. You can toss it in your bag or put it in your pocket. Pull it out when you need it, and you’re in business.
Its simplicity impresses me, as does its functionality. The lip in the front holds the iPad in place in an upright plane. The tablet can be in either landscape or portrait orientation. You can also lay it flat for a flatter angle.
The Magnus Mini is made from soft ABS plastic and has a tough rubberized coating to protect it. The bottom has a rubber grip so it won’t slide around on your desktop.
It’s simple and elegant and there not much else to say except that I think any iPad Mini user would be delighted to have one and use it regularly for an enhanced computing experience.
If I were to make any suggestions for improvement, I would also like to see it function as a docking device so the unit could be charging. But I suppose you can always just plug in your charger. I would also like to see it be adjustable somehow so you could vary the angle.
If you want to grab one, go to Ten One Design’s website. It will cost you $29.95.
