Coby has shown what they can do for your music again. The MP-165 is a great all around music machine.

The set up was extremely simple. The clock was set and it was time to rock n' roll. Included with the package are several adaptors for various iPod models from the original iPod, to the Nano and even the iPod Touch. It was tested with the iPod touch 3rd gen.
The dock portion is motorized, so with the touch of the 'open' button, the docking mechanism came up and opened. The iPod was simply docked by pushing it onto the dock and that was it. Music was selected and then the 'open' button was pressed again and the iPod was lowered into position. Now comes the really easy part. Everything is controlled by the included remote control unit from now on in. You can control the iPod, as well as the radio and even the input selection.
The sound quality was nothing short of phenomenal and is better than the $200 set of speakers on the reviewers desktop computer. It has an automatic equalizer for the type of music and venue type which is usually seen in overpriced units.
It is both battery and a/c powered, so it is fully portable. Another redeeming quality is that when it is plugged in to an outlet, it also acts as an iPod charger (only when docked, not when the aux jack is used) so it does not drain the iPod battery.
They say you get what you pay for. In this case there is a strong case for disagreement. Why ? Because the quality of the Coby MP-165 far outweighs its cost.
