Those of us with iPhone 3GS envy have been somewhat mollified by recent software that allows you to shoot video on the earlier generations of the iPhone. iVideoCamera was first and then ShowTime appeared in late December. Both are $0.99. When it appeared, ShowTime had the edge in terms of resolution and frame rate. It could also record videos of any length, whereas iVideoCamera was limited to about a minute. Our blogger John Painter has been tracking and testing these apps, and in this new video he concludes that recent release of a new version of iVideoCamera gives it the edge. He says the quality is better, though in high-quality mode it's still limited to short snippets. Check out the video to see his review.
