Rumor: GM to offer "Siri Eyes Free" in their Sonic and Spark

One of the most interesting features of iOS 6 is Siri Eyes Free. Automakers will put a button on the steering wheel of some models that will let you use Siri without touching or looking at your iPhone. If your phone is connected, you can simply touch the button on the steering wheel to talk to Siri and do a wide range of functions such as make a call, get directions, play music, access your calender, listen to and send text messages, and more. Your phone doesn't even turn on, so you won't be tempted to look at it. The GM Authority website is reporting that the first two GM models to get Siri Eyes Free will be the Chevy Sonic and the Spark. Other manufacturers that Apple said would be offering Siri Eyes Free include BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover, Jaguar, Audi, Toyota, Chrysler, and Honda. This new feature is an amazing step, further cementing the iPhone's place in the market. It's hard to imagine that other smartphone makers will be able to match this.
