A new Gmail app from Google has arrived for the iPhone and iPad. It's free, and it's a complete refresh of an app that wasn't that well received when it first appeared: new interface, new features, and integration of Google's other services, such as Calendar and Google+ social networking. The app appears to be based on the popular Sparrow app, and integrates some of its features — which isn't surprising, given that Google purchased Sparrow. New features in version 2.0 include multiple account support, search predictions as you type, push notifications, and an infinite scrolling inbox (such that you don't need to tell it to load more messages). According to the Official Gmail Blog, Google spent six months rewriting the app. You can read a review on iMore, which likes just about everything in the app except for the lack of a unified Inbox.
