Yesterday The Daily reported that Microsoft Office is coming to the iPad soon, even showing a photo of it running on an iPad. Then later in the day Microsoft denied it. Then today The Daily's Peter Ha stood by his story, saying that a Microsoft employee actually demoed a prototype for him. Microsoft said that the photo was faked, but Peter Ha said that they didn't fake the image in any way. Further, he said that another Microsoft employee who is closer to the project confirmed that Office for the iPad will be coming soon.
The software will reportedly let you create and edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents, both online and locally stored on your iPad. The interface is similar to Microsoft OneNote for iPad, The Daily said.
