This week Google took a big step toward meeting the needs of iPhone users by optimizing search results for your iPhone screen — no more scrolling from side to side. Simply go to Google's site via Safari and do a search. Not only are the results optimized, but local search results have more convenient Get Directions and click-to-call links. You'll need version 2.x of the firmware to access the optimized site. And if you'd prefer to access the regular site, there's a Classic link near the bottom of the page. The Official Google Mobile Blog has a video demonstrating this new functionality.
