i.TV today announced the imminent availability of version 2.0. Already this app was promoted as "the only movie, DVD, and TV guide you'll ever need." Version 2.0 includes the "i.TV Remote Control Framework," which allows third parties to integrate functionality into i.TV. And the first to do so, is TiVo. You'll be able to use your iPhone to change the channel, fast forward, record, and play your favorite shows and movies with just a tap on your iPhone or iPod touch. Also, 2.0 will include a new streamlined interface, push notifications, and more, along with usability, performance, and speed improvements. You can watch a cool demo video on YouTube, or watch the same thing via a larger-size MOV-format video showing the software in action. i.TV already had a ton of features in the current version, including the ability to browse and search over 144,000 TV and movie listings, along with over 100,000 DVD titles from Netflix. And much more. The critical reviews in the App Store seem mainly related to crashes, so one assumes that version 2.0 addresses this.
