With some 65,000 apps, it's hard sometimes to find the ones that will meet your needs the best. And it's sometimes hard to sort through the App Store reviews to determine whether the app is worth your time and/or money. Two resources can help. One is the website 148Apps, which has just been selected by PC magazine as one of the top 100 websites, and will appear in the Undiscovered Tech category. This site has great reviews of apps, but also five very helpful Top 148 Apps lists: All time Top Apps, Free iPhone Apps, Free iPhone Games, Top Paid Apps, and Top Paid Games. And one way of finding "undiscovered apps," those that may really be good but have just happened to not receive attention, is the $2 Top-Tens app, which lets you automatically track lists of top tens related to your interests, such as movies, albums, books, Disney rides, places to visit in London — and much more. And it also now includes a list of Top 10 Undiscovered Apps. In order to qualify in this category, the app cannot be within the top 100 of its respective App Store category. iPhone users submit their favorite undiscovered app on the Top Tens website, and the entries are then collated and the most popular submissions appear in the list.

Saved to my desktop!
THANK YOU! I absolutely love this site. I spend quite a while EVERY morning going through both the App Store & Pandora Box to see what's new & best. This site is great & has been saved to my desktop for daily QUICK access. You've saved me LOTS of time every day.
Thanks
Hi, Elizabeth. Thanks for your comment -- and for the link. I didn't know about that page on the Apple site. What's Pandora Box?
Jim
Pandora Box
Not to be confused with Pandora "Radio", Pandora "Box" is a lot like the App Store, except you don't spend an hour or more going through each individual category. Categories are great if you know exactly what you're looking for such as action games or medical apps, but for someone like me who wanted to see ALL the newest apps every day, Pandora Box was the answer. You have TWO categories: Price reduced & New. Price reduced has 2 sub-categories: paid & free. It's great because if there's an app I was interested in but didn't want to shell out the money for, I'll know when it goes on sale or is free for a day. The newest apps also has the same 2 sub-categories: paid & free. Since I check it once a day, I only have to scroll down these 4 sub-categories until I hit the 48 hour bar. Everything below that line is stuff I saw yesterday. Another wonderful feature that Pandora Box has over the App Store is that you can save as many as you want to your favorites. I had a LONG list of all the EA Games & slowly worked my way down the list until I had them all. Every once in a while, you'll see a red dot with a number in it over the Favorites button, that means that one (or more) of your saved apps is on sale! Helpful in prioritizing which one to download next.
