CNET reports that police have accessed the location information on iPhones and 3G iPad

As I posted earlier, on Thursday it was revealed that the iPhone and iPad 3G store your location data and keep a record of everywhere you've been. According to PocketNow, the cache file with the information appears to be a bug or an oversight that will likely be fixed in an upgrade soon. But interestingly, CNET reports that police are aware of this stored information and have accessed it in criminal investigations.
