I posted last month about "Apple's secret eBay store," which was selling refurbished iPads and iPods at prices below Apple's own refurb store at Apple.com. The great deals apparently disappeared over the weekend though, as the store — called Refurbished Outlet — is no longer available. The page only shows an FAQ about Apple Certified Refurbished products. The store's profile is still visible.
According to 9To5Mac, all products were removed from the store on Saturday evening. 9T05Mac says it first reported on the refurb store last November when an eBay representative said Apple was running it, though possibly through intermediaries.
It's likely Apple simply cleared out the inventory it needed to move quickly. It was popular not only because the prices were sometimes lower, but also because the store didn't charge taxes in many states and had a PayPal option.
