I spent a number of years using Windows Mobile devices, and they always had an SD card slot for storage of files or programs. It was a simple and easy way to dramatically increase the amount of storage. But there's no card slot in the iPhone. Not to fear: AirStash is an SD card reader that uses Wi-Fi to let you access the files on the card via your iPhone or iPad. If you have movies or other video files or music on the flash card, it can actually stream those to your device. AirStash costs $100 and is available from Airstash.com.

I've already ordered mine. This is basically a micro/portabe Timecapsule storage solution for iPhone/iPod/iPad which means big things potentially in terms of file sharing. While it's being pegged to share music or video between people in a group, I don't think it takes too much imagination to see how it could be used in education, a busy medical practice, and other business professionals which require a collaborative work environment and are mobile.

Great to hear that you've ordered one. Maybe post a review once you've received it. I agree that it will have a wide range of uses. It occurred to me, too, that one is no longer tied to iTunes in regard to accessing media. if you have some movies on your computer, you can just plop them on the SD card and access them without going through the step of putting them in your iTunes library and then syncing.
