Jim, That is basically double

Jim, That is basically double what the iPhone had for sales when it made it debut. I think iPad is filling a niche many didn't realize existed because the mouse oriented interface has gone virtually unchanged for a quarter century... until now. What I'm hypothesizing is that the user interface of the iPad is more personal/organic, at least the more I use it those seven finger movements we all learned on the iPhone - help draw out the richness of experience using the iPad's media features. It would be hard for me to ever go back to a laptop now, probably not what Apple wants but I'm very pleased with the iPad as my primary mobile device and my iMac as my primary heavy lifter. I just wish that Apple would get iWork.com running more smoothly because it's got more potential than cred at the moment, and it's essential for the iPad to be at it's best. Nothings perfEct. ;)

Guess it shows what I know

Well, guess this shows what I know. I really didn't think it would do so well considering all the limitations of not having a full OS... It's certainly good news for Apple and our site, and who knows I may decide not to get a Mac Mini after all...hmmm (might be starting to crack...NO!...mustn't give in to iPad envy...gotta fight, but looks so cool..large screen...grrRRRRR!!)

Good point

I've been thinking exactly the same thing — the touch interface is transforming in that it creates an intimacy that other technologies don't offer. And it's different from the iPhone, somehow. The larger screen brings the content closer to you. Or another way of saying, the small screen of the iPhone creates a distance that just isn't there with the iPad.
