The iPhone saved my Husband from a Chuck Norris Roundhouse Kick to the Head

My husband naively said this morning, that housework doesn’t count as exercise. Instead of giving him the “Chuck Norris Round house Kick to the Head” that he deserved, I whipped out my iPhone to prove him wrong.
Pedometer

When I couldn’t get the Nike + iPod app to work, I downloaded Pedometer (Luminant Software, $0.99) and calibrated it.
I put in my new V-Moda Faze headset and grabbed the vacuum.

In an hour and a half of doing my regular vacuuming, I had 7,130 steps. That equals 3.28 miles and I burned 301 calories.

The V-Moda Faze worked great to drown out the vacuum and Yo Gabba Gabba. Best fitting in-ear headset I have ever used. It only fell out twice while doing the housework – that’s 100 times less that the Apple earbuds. I only wish it had volume control.

So, with my iPhone I was able to prove my husband wrong. Oh, and by the way, Honey. You couldn’t have done that with your Blackberry!

I'm the wife of a scattered businessman and the mother of 4. The oldest is out in the "Real World", the second is in college, the third and fourth are in elementary school.

I'm trying to make the lives of mothers better by sharing my mistakes - so they can learn from my mistakes, they don't have to make their own. I love to travel and take pictures. I try to incorporate both into my life every day.

My motto - "Don't Panic - It could be worse."
