Information is still coming in from the Worldwide Developers conference going on right now in San Francisco, however the new iPhone 4 has just been officially announced.
The changes are significant and this iPhone, being called 'iPhone 4', makes previous models look downright toy like.
Some of the more significant changes noted are:
- 24% thinner than the iPhone 3Gs at a mere 9.4mm.
- A front facing camera.
- A 5 megapixel camera with LED flash.
- Built in background noise cancellation.
- A new super high resolution 3.5" screen.
- HD video capture at 720p, 30 fps.
- 7 hours of talktime on 3G with new larger battery.
In all, there are over 100 new features to the iPhone hardware and operating system which will now be called iOS4. There are reports on the web saying that AT&T is making upgrading very easy and supposedly an $18 upgrade fee and a new 2 year agreement. No idea as of yet on the cost of the new iPhone 4, but I am sure the prices will be structured similarly to past models.
