This Week in Apple News

Credible rumors indicate that Siri's voice may be getting a celebrity update, with the voices of your favorite movie, television, and musical stars soon to be available as in-app purchases. Sources say that Christopher Walken, Ellen DeGeneres, Gilbert Gottfried, Liam Neeson, James Earl Jones, Sean Connery, Morgan Freeman, Beyonce, Angelina Jolie, Lucy Liu, and Mila Kunis have all signed on.

On the Kickstarter side of things, a new product aims to capitalize on the burgeoning popularity of iOS exercise apps. They're called VR Shoes and they'll let wearers trick their fitness apps into marking down more time spent exercising and less time watching Mythbusters. The campaign ends tonight at midnight. The company hopes to have the first units ready to ship by the end of January 2015.

A serious bug has been discovered in Apple CarPlay. Unless drivers log out of GameCenter before connecting their iPhone to their vehicle, car accidents that happen while using CarPlay will be counted by GameCenter as a “High Score” and the driver will be ranked against other players in Grand Theft Auto. The American Automobile Association expressed concern, worrying this could lead to more car accidents.

That's all the news for today, April 1.
