The fastest way to get your hands on an iPhone 4

Don't have an iPhone 4 yet but are dying to get one? Here is the fastest and quickest way to get a black one (sorry white iPhone 4s aren't available anywhere yet except in Cupertino) - sign up for the "iPhone 4 priority list" at your local Apple Store. I was one of those unfortunate souls who wasn't able to pre-order their iPhone 4 before AT&T's network collapsed. Going to my local Apple store on launch day was a nightmare and absolutely futile. Not too mention a crazy mob scene. So, after checking my local Radio Shack and AT&T store with no luck either, I went into the Apple Store about a week later to return something. I asked the Apple Store clerk who was helping me out (who also happened to be one of the store's managers) how long it would be before they would get in some more iPhone 4s. His answer shocked me. He told me that Apple Stores are still getting in regular shipments of iPhone 4s, but they are first going to people who sign up for the "iPhone 4 Priority List." Once these orders are filled, then they will start having iPhone 4s for walk-in customers. The busier the store (aka - Fifth Avenue flagship in New York must get in hundreds if not thousands in a shipment) the more iPhone 4s that store will receive. 

I then asked him how long would I have to wait. Since the earliest Apple's Online Store will ship out your iPhone 4 order is 3 weeks. He told me that if you get on the priority list you will have it within a week. I was skeptical, but decided to sign up. I didn't have to pay for it or even put down a deposit for them to hold it. And long and behold my iPhone 4 came in 7 1/2 days later. Let me tell you it was worth the wait. The week flew by and it was the best decision I made. I am so glad that I didn't order my iPhone from Apple's Online Store. I would still be waiting 3 more weeks! 

So if you want to get your iPhone 4 sooner than later, here's what you have to do:

1 - Goto your local Apple Store.

2 - Flag down a clerk and tell them that you would like to be put on the iPhone 4 Priority List.

3 - Sign up using one of there computers (yes, you have to sign up in person at your store. I know it's a pain).

4 - Confirm your reservation.

5 - Ask them how long they think it will take for your iPhone 4 to arrive.

6 - You will receive a reservation confirmation email.

7 - Wait a week.

8 - You will receive an email from Apple letting you know that your iPhone 4 is in

9 - Hurry up and get over to the Apple Store that you made the reservation from because they will only hold it for you for 24 hours, Again, IT MUST BE THE SAME STORE THAT YOU MADE THE ORIGINAL RESERVATION.

10 - Bring a photo ID, social security number ( must be yours ), and a major credit or debit card.

11 - Once your have it activated send me a thank you email and let me know how you made out.
