How far are you walking? Find out with DistCalc

This is a nifty app, especially for those of you who like to walk or hike trails. With DistCalc, you tap out a path, while the app measures the distance. (You can measure in miles, kilometers, yards, or meters.)

This is a must for measuring out a mile in your development or measuring a distance where there are no roads such as on a hiking trail.

Only $ .99 in the app store!

Distcalc

Unless I'm missing something, Google maps does exactly the same thing and it's free. But you do have to enable it from the labs icon. Paths, wiggly backroutes, whatever.

Not in Mobile Google Maps

You can do this via the google labs on the web, but it's not available via the built in iphone mobile map application. DistCalc also allows you to save routes, which google maps does not.

iTrakMe does that for Free

Hi,
Looks like a useful app but try iTrakMe a new GPS app that does that and much more like your speed, elevation, and even Calories burned while you walk (or run or bike). Even does stair Calories. Saves all of your trails and has fitness meters to use while you walk. The app if Free but an upgrade is required to remove its limitations. Check out iTrakMe.blogspot.com for more info and a 50% coupon on the upgrade.
