I am looking forward to attending the Voices That Matter event in Philadelphia, PA October 16-17. The organizers have even provided iPhone Life readers with a $100 off promo code! Just enter PHGMAL5 when registering to save $100 off the $695 list price.
VTM holds various events around the country and this one promises to be chock full of talented speakers. From 8am to 8pm on Saturday and 8am to 5pm on Sunday, some of the folks who literally "wrote the book" on iOS development will be speaking.
In fact, at any given time, there may be up to three different tracks/speakers so the hard part is deciding which sessions to attend. For example, my apps, like AutoVerbal, focus on accessibility so I will be attending those sessions, whereas other developers may be interested in 3D gaming or even hardware accessory integration.
Here's what VTM says:
Learn all about developing for the iPhone and iPad at the Voices That Matter: iPhone Developers Conference. You can learn from leading authors like Erica Sadun, Steve Kochan and Aaron Hillegass and meet industry leaders such as Mike Lee, Jeff LaMarcheand Graham Lee. Join us in Philadelphia , October 16-17, 2010 and learn how you can leverage Apple’s commitment to the iOS platform.
In particular, I am looking forward to meeting Erica Sadun, who wrote "The iPhone Developer's Cookbook", which is probably the best iOS development book to get if you're getting only one. I've bought her first (covering iOS 2.x) and second edition (covering 3.x), and handed down the 2.x one to a newbie developer!
If any of our readers are attending, please contact me. It would be great to meet! Same goes for CES, CTIA and MacWorld... I'm a bit of a tradeshow junkie!
