Twig bends over backwards to help charge and support your iPhone

Kickstarter is unleashing new products at a record clip. Ideas that might never have seen the light of day are being funded, before mass production, and even influenced directly by those backers. The latest example is Twig.

Twig is a highly portable, colorful multipurpose device that will earn a spot in your gadget bag. It's a charging cable, about the size of your palm, which makes it great for travel. It also is a tripod/stand which makes it great for FaceTime and movie watching. And when combined with an AC brick, it's a compact wall mount charger.

I have been in touch with the creators of the Twig, and I suggested that another great use of their invention is with a 12 volt DC car charger. The flexible stand would allow you to position the iPhone just right for music and Bluetooth communication.

Check out the Twig at Kickstarter and encourage independent development of more cool gear!
