For that special chick in your life, consider chicboom from chicBuds

Between my wife and kids, I have several 'chicks' in my life but it was the youngest ones (7 and 11) who were immediately drawn to the chicboom keychain speaker from chicBuds.com. Available in various trendy female friendly patterns, there is more than meets the eye with this little gadget. Smaller than one half of a pair of fluffy dice, the chicboom can fit in your purse or gadget bag and you're good to go.


So what does it do? Surprisingly, despite it's diminutive size, the chicboom fills the room with sound by acting as an external speaker to any MP3 player or iOS device. It is NOT a Bluetooth device, but rather connects via the included cable to your device's 3.5mm speaker jack and the 4 hour battery charges via USB.


The built in speaker on most iOS devices is nothing to write home about, but the chicboom makes a nice affordable (under $30) pocketable solution. My kids had a movie night and played a video on the iPad with an external projector and the chicboom served as the speaker. It did a great job and now the kids have taken possession of the chicboom for good!
